Samuel Kusasira is a lecturer at Makerere University Business School, in the department of Energy Science and Technology. Samuel’s journey is as impressive as he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Energy Economics focusing on impact electricity access and climate vulnerabilities on primary education completions in Eastern Africa.
As a certified carbon literate by the prestigious Carbon Literacy Trust, UK, Samuel is leading the charge in environmental advocacy and awareness. His contributions extend beyond academia. Samuel is the visionary founder of the Ekcians Greenlyf Foundation, a grassroots organization empowering university students and young professionals to become catalysts for change in their communities. Through innovative initiatives, Samuel is shaping the next generation of climate leaders.
His expertise has garnered international recognition, earning him membership in the esteemed International Association of Energy Economics and a role on the advisory committee of the Global University Climate Forum at the University of Yale, USA. Prior to taking on full time leadership at Greenlyf, Samuel served as the Global Climate Programme Coordinator at Save the Children International, where he spearheaded transformative climate capacity building initiatives. Driven by a passion for sustainability and a relentless pursuit of progress, Samuel Kusasira is not just shaping the future, he is redefining it.
