POSITION-SPECIFIC OPEN CALLS


1. FUNDRAISING EXPERT (Consultant)

Position: Fundraising Expert
Reporting to: Executive Director
Commitment: Performance-based; project duration March to December 2026
Compensation: Contingent on deliverables

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced fundraising professional to lead the strategic development and execution of GreenLyf’s inaugural Green Enterprise Fund for African Youth campaign. You will design the fundraising architecture, guide the volunteer fundraising committee, and directly support major donor engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy

  • Coach and support the Fundraising Committee

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with institutional donors, foundations, and high-net worth individuals

  • Oversee the setup of online fundraising infrastructure

  • Lead preparation for the annual fundraising tours and campaigns

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, business development, or sales

  • Familiarity with international donors and cross-border giving is an advantage.

  • Strong network or ability to build relationships with potential funders

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker with the ability to deliver results

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification is a plus, but not essential – we value practical experience and track record.

2. GOODWILL AMBASSADOR (2 Positions)

Position: Goodwill Ambassador
Location: Global (Remote)
Commitment: 2–4 hours per week
Compensation: Volunteer (Contingent on deliverables)

About the Role:
GreenLyf is seeking two influential individuals to serve as Goodwill Ambassadors. You will act as champions for our mission, opening doors to donor networks, organizing introductory meetings, and lending your credibility to our fundraising efforts. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Introduce GreenLyf to your personal and professional networks

  • Organize or facilitate introductory meetings with potential donors

  • Participate in key donor meetings (virtually or in-person)

  • Advise on culturally appropriate engagement strategies for your constituency and beyond

Requirements:

  • Strong personal or professional network in your country of residence

  • Genuine passion for climate action and African youth empowerment

  • Good communication and relationship-building skills

  • Prior ambassadorial, board, or diplomatic experience is welcome but not required

  • Formal qualifications are less important than your influence and commitment

3. PROPOSAL DEVELOPER

Position: Proposal Developer
Reporting to: Fundraising Expert / Lead Fundraiser
Commitment: 10–15 hours per week
Compensation: Monthly stipend (Contingent on deliverables)

About the Role:
You will be the primary writer for GreenLyf’s grant proposals and fundraising appeals. Working closely with the Fundraising Expert and Program team, you will translate our strategic plan into compelling, well-structured funding requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify relevant grant opportunities

  • Draft concept notes, full proposals, and Letters of Inquiry (LOIs)

  • Coordinate input from program, finance, and leadership teams

  • Maintain a proposal calendar and track submission deadlines and share weekly updates

  • Support the development of the Green Enterprise Growth Fund investment case

Requirements:

  • Strong writing and storytelling skills – you know how to make a case

  • Experience writing grant proposals, reports, or business cases is an advantage

  • Ability to take complex information and present it clearly

  • Good attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • Background in English, Communications, Development Studies, or related field is helpful but not essential

  • Knowledge and observance of professional code of conduct while using Artificial intelligence tool

4. COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE

Position: Communications Associate
Reporting to: Communications Lead
Commitment: 10–15 hours per week
Compensation: Monthly stipend (Internet and training)

About the Role:
We are looking for a creative storyteller to produce high-quality digital content for our fundraising and awareness campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design visual assets (infographics, posters, social media graphics)

  • Produce short-form video content for fundraising appeals

  • Write blog posts, newsletter articles, and donor impact stories

  • Maintain a content calendar aligned with campaign timelines

  • Collaborate with the Pitch Manager to refine presentation materials

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva is perfectly fine!)

  • Basic video editing skills – as simple as using a smartphone

  • Good eye for visual storytelling and brand consistency

  • Experience managing social media platforms is a plus

  • A portfolio of your work (professional, freelance, or personal projects)

  • Formal qualification in design or media is welcome but not required – we care about what you can create

5. DATA ANALYST

Position: Data Analyst
Reporting to: Research & Evaluation Lead
Commitment: 8–12 hours per week
Compensation: Monthly stipend (Contingent on deliverables)

About the Role:
You will build and manage GreenLyf’s donor research function and impact data systems. Your work will ensure we approach the right prospects with the right evidence, maximizing our fundraising success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and compile prospect lists of 200+ potential donors

  • Maintain a donor database using Google Sheets/Airtable

  • Track and report on fundraising progress against targets

  • Support impact data collection from mentorship programmes and partner enterprises

  • Use AI tools and online resources to accelerate research

Requirements:

  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets)

  • Good research skills – you know how to find information online.

  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail

  • Experience with databases or CRM tools is an advantage.

  • Ability to work with large amounts of information and spot patterns

  • A degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field is desired but not compulsory.

6. PITCH MANAGER

Position: Pitch Manager
Reporting to: Executive Director
Commitment: 5-8 hours per week (flexible, with key pitch periods)
Compensation: Monthly stipend (within volunteer stipend pool)

About the Role:
You will coach and prepare the Executive Director and other spokespeople for high-stakes donor presentations. Your expertise will transform our work into a confident, persuasive pitch that secures investment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine the GreenLyf pitch deck and narrative

  • Conduct mock pitch sessions and provide constructive feedback

  • Coach the Executive Director on delivery, messaging, and Q&A handling

  • Support preparation for the April–May 2026 US fundraising tour

  • Coordinate with the Content Creator on presentation visuals

Requirements:

  • Experience in sales, public speaking, teaching, or coaching

  • Good understanding of what makes a persuasive presentation

  • Ability to give kind, constructive feedback

  • Patience and encouragement!

  • Background in marketing, communications, or business is helpful but not essential

7. HR COORDINATOR

Position: HR Coordinator
Reporting to: Executive Director
Commitment: 10–15 hours per week

About the Role:
You will establish the foundational HR systems for our growing volunteer team. This includes recruitment, onboarding, role clarity, and volunteer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the current recruitment cycle

  • Develop and maintain volunteer role descriptions and Terms of Reference

  • Support the finalization of contracts/TORs by February 20

  • Implement a simple quarterly check-in system

  • Foster a positive and motivated volunteer culture

Requirements:

  • Experience in people management, administration, or coordination

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Calendar, Docs, Sheets)

  • Good communication and a friendly, approachable manner

  • HR qualification or degree is welcome but not required – we value your people skills

You will provide essential operational support to the Executive Director and the wider team, ensuring smooth coordination of meetings, schedules, and documentation.

  • Manage the Executive Director’s calendar and scheduling

  • Take minutes during key meetings and track action items

  • Organise digital files and documentation

  • Support general office coordination as the team grows

  • Assist with follow-up communications

Requirements:

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Clear written and verbal communication

  • Comfortable with Google Workspace (Calendar, Docs, Sheets)

  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset

  • Professionalism and ability to handle confidential information

  • Previous administrative experience is an advantage, but enthusiasm and willingness to learn matter more
